The Idaho Pan Handle Avalanche Center had issued a HIGH avalanche rating for the day and redistributed by National Weather Service after the area had received significant snowfall. When such conditions are present, we recommend applying the Ten Commandments for Staying Alive in Avalanche Terrain even when on the piste. Ski Patrol may be nearby, but your crew is your best chance of survival if an avalanche occurs and someone is buried.
